Do your interests and skills lie outside of writing and fine art? That's great because there are many other ways to get involved with Squinch! If you are interested in becoming a part of our staff, fill out this application form to apply to join our team. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us through email (squinchmag@gmail.com), Facebook, or Instagram to learn about current position openings or discuss other ways you can get involved!

To contribute writing to Squinch, please refer to the following guidelines:

  1. Once you have formulated an idea for your piece, fill out this pitch form.

  2. After reviewing your pitch, the writing directors will get back to you to let you know that your pitch has been approved and offer suggestions as you begin writing your piece. 

  3. Once you are done drafting your article, please share your draft with squinchmag@gmail.com as a Google Doc file. The writing directors will read your article and let you know when their edits are ready to review.

  4. After you have finished editing your piece, email your final draft and make sure that you have completed the following checklist:

Items needed for publication:

  • Article includes a title.

  • Article is shared to Squinch on Google Docs and all edits are resolved.

  • Include a one sentence blurb describing your piece (refer to Articles page to see examples of past blurbs).

  • Include images relevant to your piece as attachments (png or jpg files) with captions and sources. 

  1. Email us a sample of your work at squinchmag@gmail.com with a maximum of 3 images, all of which are in .png or .jpeg format, and we will get in touch with you.

  2. To submit artwork made for Squinch, email us a maximum of 6 images in .png or .jpeg format.

  3. Include the title and materials of your artworks in the body of your email.

  4. We ask for original 2D, 3D, or digital work in the medium of your choice/interest. This can be painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design, etc. Series-based work is very much encouraged, though not required.

  5. Fill out our Artist Info Form after you submit your work to help us promote your work on the website and social media!
