From the artist: Cracks of Apollo and Solemn, taken in the south of Turkey, capture a glimpse into ancient Greece. Cracks of Apollo presents a close-up shot of a column with cracks that contrasts with the beautiful carvings; since it's from a temple dedicated to Apollo, I wanted to include that in the title while also evoking a sense of the passing of time. I am interested in the play of light and shadow, so I edit my photos in black and white to enhance that contrast. Solemn is from another ancient Greek site that Persian attacks and earthquakes had destroyed; the remains left behind are laid out in the ground in an open field. Even though they are small bits of remnants, you can still feel the glorious past that they once belonged to. Hence the title "Solemn" best explains my emotions experienced being there.
